In the hills behind the Ardbeg distillery is a spring of water: Loch Uigeadail, the source of Ardbeg whisky. Ardbeg lovers who make the pilgrimage to Loch Uigeadail must carry on an ancient ritual and pour a drop of whisky into the water as a tribute to the Loch. Uigeadail in the Gaelic language means dark and mysterious place. Ardbeg Uigeadail's rich, dark and golden hues perfectly reflect the depth and complexity of this whisky. It is a special blend that combines the classic smoky notes of Ardeg with the sultana notes of Sherry casks. Launched in 2003, Ardbeg Uigeadail is the recipient of numerous awards including the Best Single Malt by IWC in 2018.
